Large, somewhat see-through shiny metallic very light weight emergency blanket. It does hold heat when I wrap myself in it. I used a rubber band to roll it it. I take this product with me when I travel "just in case" something goes wrong. This emergency blanket was purchased for a winter cruise for nights when the wind is blowing cold -- but I want to watch an outdoor movie. I put a couple of ship's towels on top and suddenly, I am nice and warm without loosing valuable luggage space. I lived "up north" I kept of of these in the glove compartment "just in case" I was caught in the snow or ice. For camping, I place this between the ground and myself during the warmer weather. During the winter I put one beneath and one on top of my sleeping bag to conserve energy. I am curious about how other people use this product. I would buy again.it started pouring the first day of edc orlando OUT OF NOWHERE & this was the only thing that kept me alive bc i was FREEZING. someone snapped this pic of me wrapped up in it and i look like a baked potato & i was just as warm as oneI bought 10, and have given away 7 of them to others!I tried one on top of my top sheet...No good, got cooked!! Tried it on top of my blanket, again way too hot!!I have a second blanket I rarely use but keep it there for cold days, so I taped it with masking tape to the top of that blanket....Perfect!! When cold, I pull it about half way over my shoulders, the only bad thing is getting warm and going to sleep....then you wake up sweating!!, so as soon as I get warm enough, I move it back!! and am really happy with it!!In terms of price per product, it is moderately expensive, but it's one of the very few Mylar sheets sold individually on Amazon. When Walmart runs out of singles and starts selling in packs of 20, I just buy it here.I literally LOVE the size of this heat blanket when it’s folded I don’t know exactly how big it is when you open it yet but when it’s still folded it’s SUPER SMALL which I love for my go-bag, it doesn’t take up a lot of space at all!My need was for an inexpensive, strong, flexible, light weight, moisture proof, heat and light reflective blanket of the stated size of this product. All of these needs were met nicely. I used the blanket as a curtain draped over fluorescent grow lights above trays of potted vegetable seeds. The twofold purpose for the blanket was to maintain a high relative humidity and to contain and reflect the heat and light from the lamps inward to the potted seeds. Today is day 28; seed germination and seedling growth have been most satisfactory. I would recommend this product to anyone with a similar need. The blanket is extremely lightweight and can be folded down to about the size of a pack of cigarettes. It can be carried in a backpack, in a car or boat - almost anywhere. I carry it in my backpack and take it on camping trips where I might need it. The blanket is made of a silvery material which is highly reflective - it would be visible from a considerable distance which is highly desirable in an emergency situation. The price was quite low, lower than expected. It is so inexpensive that it would make sense to buy several - one for the car, one for your backpack, etc. This "blanket" is a life Saver! I live in Wisconsin where we cannot hover in our homes waiting for warm weather to come. Life goes on and we have to travel in below zero and inclement weather. I keep at least two in each vehicle just in case.A friend bought what she thought would be her home... a motor bus touted as the most beautiful home you'll ever own! The owner lives in Florida and neglected to mention that there was no heat! So she's living in winter without heat while they wrangle. These have been a godsend!! She puts them between her blankets and so far has existed quite well considering!Product promised in pictures and description is not what was sent buy the seller. It was a generic item and hence I returned it.Looks good
