I'm a sheepherder in remote mountain camps. In winter my horse is exposed to 20 below windchill, blizzard conditions, freezing rain, and every kind of nasty weather you can imagine. This coat is the best investment for taking care of your horse. Very durable as my horse will roll on the ground with the coat on occasionally. No snags, tears or even a sign of wear and it has been put to the test. Size is accurate using described measuring technique. The coat stays on and in place, no twisting or shifting even after he rolls it settles back in to proper position. My horse is a thick mountain horse, and has a very thick neck. I use only the bottom velcro strap on the neck catching only the last inch of velcro and it stays secure. I can't use the top neck strap but it still stays secured. This coat has stayed secure and kept my horse covered in 45 mph gusts. In extreme weather below 0, the condensation freezes into crystals and falls down into the flaps on each side of the horse, so the insulation surrounding the body stays dry. After the weather clears I bring the coat into camp next to the wood stove and hang it up wrong side out on a rope strung along a wall. The lining and insulation are quick drying. The flaps of the coat, at the bottom edge, are full of ice crystals from condensation falling down. I cut small slots in the nylon lining at the bottom edge inside and melted the edges with a lighter to prevent fraying. The ice crystals can be shook out to the slots and out of the coat. All sewing is high quality, durable. I can't say enough good things about this coat. Buy it....it works and the price is reasonable.
